We are sincerely sorry to learn of Esther Rantzen’s sad passing.
I well remember meeting Esther on a number of occasions following her daughter Emily being diagnosed with severe Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). I particularly recall when she presented me with a BBC Community Champions award at a hotel in Southampton during 2005. I also chatted on the phone with her a couple of times at her home in the New Forest about the situation surrounding ME at those times.
