During ME Awareness time this year our charity marked it’s 40th anniversary and has been nominated for the Kings Award for Voluntary Services.
One of the most significant of our many achievements for those affected by Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) has been working with health authorities to establish NHS specialist services that assist with diagnosis and run management courses for people affected by the often life changing illness.
It’s encouraging to know of the good number of patients who have been able to move on to lead reasonably active lives after being thoroughly assessed and managed by experienced clinicians and their GPs.
We are however also very aware of the many who continue to be virtually housebound and in need of care – so our work continues.
